Daily Slurp. A “try something new” widget.

Daily Slurp logoDaily slurp.com is a site that displays multiple interactive website images. There are about 10 to 12 images of website homepages on the front page of Daily Slurp. When you mouse over one of the images, you zoom in on it to be able to see if you would be interested. If you are interested, you can click on the image to be brought to the page. This is kinda “stumble-upon” like. You are surfing in “visual stimulated” mode, not search specific mode.

Daily Slurp offers a widget. You can display a “mini” slurp on your blog. This way a reader can see something new and remember where they were when they found it. This might make them want to come back to do it again.

This is a javascript. You can decide how many images to display by tweaking the script. (details are on site)
The widget appears to be between 150px and 200px wide. So it should fit in most sidebars.
There is a CSS code that you can customize to change the appearance of this widget.

I’ll pop one into the sidebar so you can see how it works. I will also drop in a screenshot to this post.
