GeeSee Wow what happened?

GeeSee.com last week opened up their chat in what they call a limited beta. The chat service and it’s widget were featured on TechCrunch on Nov 2nd. There was a rush to try out the new GeeSee. I was there and found about 115 people in three rooms. A vast majority located in the TechCrunchTest room.
Today I log into GeeSee and I find 2 people chatting in one room. What happened, GeeSee? The honeymoon is over once you drop off the TechCrunch main page.
I think for starters, people don’t want to be tied down to the site hosting the GeeSee widget that they logged in on. They want to surf! GeeSee needs to “pop out” their widget so you can take it with you.
GeeSee also needs to get some star power behind their service. When I was on the TechCrunchTest chat, Marshall K. showed up and just like that, all conversations stopped so everyone could follow the MK. threads. This enthralled the 90 or so users and actually increased traffic for a while.
If something innovative isn’t done soon, GeeSee will die and no one will care.
