FeedBurner.com announced yesterday, 12/01/2006, that subscribers can now completely customize the FeedBurner Headline Animator.
They finally got the idea that users were sick of the “Brushed Metal” appearance of the original Headline Animator. So they blew it wide open and now they allow you choices.

1. Use your own background image. (requires image URL)
2. Use custom colors.
3. Choose custom fonts.
4. Custom sizing.
5. Some sort of drag and drop feature. Allows you to add images or logos. (assume they need to be hosted)

This is awesome! I think FeedBurner has caught the “Widget 2.0″ bug. Widget 2.0 is simply the second revolution in widgets. Allowing complete control of your widgets appearance. FeedBurner has covered all the bases here.

FeedBurner warning: If you change your current Headline Animator, the changes will take place on every animator you have for that particular feed. They say they are working on giving you the ability to have multiple styles for a single feed.

Here are a few examples.
