Sometimes I find interesting websites that aren’t necessarily widget related. I still want to share them.

Web 2.0 Slides.com is an interesting site that has created a way for users to add what they consider Web 2.0 sites. Then each site is loaded in the window for you to preview. Be quick, you only get a few seconds to view each site before you are brought to the next one in the list. Don’t worry though, you have complete control of the slide.

You can pause, fast forward, rewind and play to continue the slide. Each site you are shown is just as you would see it normally except with a Web 2.0 slides wrapper. There is also a scroll bar window on the left so you can see if the next site in the list is of interest to you. If not, you can skip ahead to the next one.

I have found some sites I didn’t know existed and saw some I didn’t know were considered Web 2.0. Fun!
***Warning*** This can be an addictive time waster. I spent 1.5 hours on this site and made it into the middle B’s. (oh it’s alphabetical by the way)

Swamii.com offers an interesting search functionality. You enter your interests (in my case…Widgets) and Swamii delivers up-to-date results that pertain to your interests.

Swamii is still in beta but seems to work excellently. (it listed one of my recent posts) I recommend checking it out. I have referred to it a few times and have found some potential post topics including my “Star It Post”

Swamii does require registration, but this is simply to automate log-in and deliver your results instantly. I don’t remember any registration hoops to jump through (email & word verification, blood type, sex etc…) which is awesome!

If you want Swamii results but don’t want to visit the Swamii site every day. They offer the ability to have your results emailed to you and they let you choose the frequency of the emails.
This is a definite “cool thing”!

calcoolate.com “The coolest calculator on the web” or so they say.

This is an online calculator that you can also download and use in place of your Windows calculator.

Gone are the excuses like “I can’t do my math homework because I forgot my calculator at school”.
Parents rejoice!

Clipmarks.com I’m sure you have heard of this one. It appears to be very popular and is constantly being updated.

Clipmarks allows you to update the live Clipmarks via a browser plug in. Find something interesting on the web and clip it. What you clip, appears on the “live clips” and other clipmarks users can “pop it”. (Essentially vote for it)

Clipmarks.com also offers “ClipRoll” a JavaScript based widget for your blog. This displays the most recent clips on Clipmarks.
You can edit colors and ammount of clips displayed as well as clip information. No size modifications though.

I like ClipMarks widget! User generated interests are always more productive than search results. Just because sometimes I didn’t even think to search for…
