MySpace generators that rock

There is no shortage of MySpace users. Hence there are no shortage of sites that cater to the MySpace crowd. One of the most popular segments of this growing group, is the “MySpace Code Generators”. (MyCG)

As with any industry, there are Excellent companies and there are So-So companies. Sometimes the difference between the two is simply a site layout issue. Other times you may run into an “Ad Pop-up Generator”

Granted, most of these sites are fueled by Google Adsense but sometimes they go overboard trying to confuse you into clicking on their ads. This type of MySpace Code Generator doesn’t even make the So-So company list. (it gets filtered)

I plan on listing a few of the ones I have checked out. There’s no way that I can review every MyCG out there. The ammount to choose from is somewhat overwhelming. If I have missed one of your favorites, please let me know. I’ll check it out and maybe add it to the review.

mygen2.5

At this point, MyGEN 2.5 is one of my favorites. The site has a clean, easy to navigate interface. They are more concerned with the user than the Ad revenue. MyGEN 2.5 is also a blog that is updated regularly with news concerning site features and upgrades.

The creators of MyGEN 2.5 have determined that MySpace users would like information about what they are using and help in using it. They have also included a user forum. This forum appears very easy to use and judging by the numbers, very popular.

Other features include:
1. Tutorials from the MyGEN creators as well as user submitted tutorials.
2. Over 8000 user submitted layout templates. Broken down into categories. Use them for your layout or mod them as you like.
3. Intuitive, easy to use layout generator with a host of additional options. Including Video, photo, text scrolling, contact boxes and many more.

MyGEN 2.5 is Excellent!

In my opinion, Layout Generators should have a “live view” This means you should be able to see the changes as you make them. Having to click a link to view the changes is a waste of time.

MyHollywoodSpace.com (MHS) allows you to see these changes as you make them. This makes creating the perfect layout that much easier. MHS doesn’t have nearly the amount of features that the other Generator sites have. What it does have though is an easy to read interface that is light on the Ads. They are not focused on tricking you into clicking their Ads.

MyHollywoodSpace.com is Good!

freecodesource.com

This site offers just about everything under the sun related to MySpace. The Ads are plainly visible on most of the site.

What I see here is so much to do, you actually don’t know where to begin. This makes for a site that is not as user friendly as it could be. If you do take the time to go through their offerings you will find all the tricks and tweaks you ever dreamed of and more.

The profile editor/generator is in very good shape. I opens in a separate window. As you edit the settings your live view updates automatically right next to the settings plane. The color selectors are slide bars for fine tuning the colors you want. This Layout Generator will have you up and running in no time.

FreeCodeSource.com is Good! (I would have said excellent except for the site layout)

    Hey Derek,
Check out Snapvine, it’s a pretty cool MySpace tool. YOu can record voice comments for MySpace. Here’s my page as an example:

  3. Diane,
I’m currently using MyGen to completely re-do my profile page. I’m going to post about it with before and after images. Yes I know it’s not a “widget”. But MySpace is important!

I’m sure Eddie will agree with that. By the way Eddie, have you created radmyspace.com or myradspace.com ? Could be interesting.
