Shelfari.com is a reader community geared towards avid readers. You get to browse a vast list of books and choose the ones you have read and pick ones you would like to read.
You can also browse other users by their tastes in literature and add them as a friend.
Shelfari offer the ability to display your books on your blog using a widget. The book covers are displayed on a shelf and you are able to browse forward and backward.
Things to know
Shelfari requires registration to use their widget.
The Shelfari book search is a little slow and retrieves multiple instances of the same book.
The widget has a few choices for size and a custom size option. But when using this to shrink your widget the book covers don’t shrink to fit. Your book rows disappear to accommodate the smaller width.
If books that you select don’t have images associated with them you get a blank image on your widget.
This is a Flash widget that should work with MySpace and other restricted platforms.
