gickr.com has a simple, easy to set up widget that creates an animated GIF of your Flickr photos.

Just go to gickr.com and enter in your Flickr username. Then click “Get Pictures”. Gickr then displays your Flickr photos and you then check mark which ones you want displayed in the widget.

Now select the size widget you want and the speed at which the images change. When you have done this, you need to click the “Next” link at the bottom right of the “frame” that you have been working in.

    Videocodezone.com MySpace friendly video widget

40,000+ Music Video Codes For MySpace, Piczo, Friendster, Xanga and any website

videocodezone.com has a video widget that works on MySpace, Friendster, Xanga and more.

They also have code that allows you to embed video in Forums.

Once you find the video you want to display, look below the video window to find the code options and select the one you need. This is very simple. There is no “hunting” for the code.

Sign up for an account to submit your favorite videos. It’s free and simple. Just an email address and a password to access your video profile.

What sets VideoCodeZone apart from the other video sites?

You can also add video search capabilities to your webspace. This is an awesome feature that allows your viewers to find the videos that they want. You can also change the search box size and color if you don’t mind editing a little HTML. The default background color was black and I changed it to blue.

Here is a music video sample!

This video widget would look better but there are some elements to my post formatting that it doesn’t like.

Snipperoo.com has an awesome post that chronicle’s widgets in 2006.

Listed are events as they have unfolded month by month throughout 2006. I was pleasantly surprised by what he had to say about Widgets Lab. (sometime around Oct.)

“The utterly wonderful Derek Anderson launches WidgetsLab.”

This is a fantastic read if you want to see where widgets came from and where they are heading.

    del.icio.us tagometer widget

    December 21st, 2006

    The del.icio.us Tag-O-meter widget.

I saw this first on a Zaptxt on TechCrunch at about 9pm on 12/20 exactly 30 minutes later I received another ZapTXT indicating Mashable has a post about this. These are both great resources on Web 2.0 and Tech related news.

It’s a good widget…but it could use a few options. (you can view another version at the bottom of this page)

The very first thing on the list is customization. Users need to be able to alter things like size and border/background color.

I also should be able to change the text to read “be the first to bookmark this post “. In fact I should be able to change it to anything I want.

Another option could be, allowing the user to alter the layout of the widget. This is kind of petty though, so I’ll stick to color, size and text options.

    Things to know

-This is a JavaScript widget. (no MySpace or other JS restricted platforms)
-This widget allows readers to add your post/page to their del.icio.us bookmarks.
