Widgipedia.com has this cool widget that supposedly displays blogs that you (the reader) would like based on the blog you are currently reading. In this case Widgets Lab.com.
I grabbed the widget from Widgipedia and dropped it into this post to see what happened…
It seems that I need to go to widget.criteo.com to set up the widget.
A simple username and password are required (no email) Sweet!
Now, I get to set the blog address and blog name, customize the widget title, determine the width, set how many links are displayed and most importantly…set totally custom colors for the backgrounds and for the text/links.
I wanted to do all this at Widgipedia.
But I think thats just for “Here’s the widget…have fun!”
Things to know
–JavaScript widget (no MySpace)
–Width minimum= 100px width maximum= 250px
–No setting for language specific results (some results in French)
–Widget is in Alpha stage (as of 02/04/07)
–Changing widget parameters at criteo.com changes them on installed widgets
–Free to use
Based on what I have read and seen…this widget, in it’s Alpha/Beta stages of development, can’t be seen by you unless you use the widget yourself.
I have included a screen shot for those that are curious.
Remember, the colors are completely customizable!
The widget creator has posted a comment on this post. Excellent!

Thanks for your post Derek.
You should note that during the alpha test, AutoRoll widgets are only visible by blog owners (we filter by IP address). As soon as we reach the beta stage, AutoRoll widgets will be visible by everybody !
BTW, language filtering should become available pretty soon
