Netvibes Universal Widget API

Released today…Netvibes UWA…I’m not seeing the usual flurry of posts announcing this information.
I wonder…is everyone trying it out and they haven’t had time to write about it?

Just like to point out that the term ‘Universal Widget’ is a Snipperoo trademark and has been used by us since early last year. Check the blog!

The Netvibes announcement is a non-story. Talk about a misnomer? Universal? I think not. In order to use this tool one must write a widget specifically for the Netvibes platform. It’s only at that point that one can convert to another platform.
This Netvibes UWA is kind of like a translation program which insists on translating every language into Swahili before the language you requested.
