Insanity!
I am trying out the new JS-Kit ratings and comments widget.
I will need your help to try it out…Please leave comments and replies to comments (yes you can reply to specific comments)
…Also, please feel free to try out the rating widget as well.
(They can be separated with text if you desire.)
(as you leave comments you can be notified of replies via email)
There are actually two widgets in one. You can use one or the other or both. They are very simple to use and there is no registration required.
Check out the many customization options. Including custom CSS and different input fields.

Hi, Derek, I’m having a bit of trouble with js-kit’s comments widget. I’m using new blogger and no matter what I do, I can’t get it to work properly when I install it as instructed on their site. I did, however (or so I thought), get it to work by including the code as a footer in individual posts, rather than in the main html/css code. The problem I now have is that any comments made on a single post, show up on all the other posts too. This is very confusing for anyone reading the posts on my blog, because each post has the same set of comments.
How do I get comments to show up ONLY on the posts they’re relating to?

well, i think you are maybe misunderstanding the intructions in the site. i would like to see your blog to give you a more proper answer but from my experience you can either put the code into a post and have instant comments for that post in particular without having to modify the path in case you have desactivated comment in the blog and you only allow comments in certains posts and want to use js-kit
make the comments be a communal pool just how you did and if you want to replace the entire blogger comment system that can also be done but not from the standard build of the js-kit widget if you want it to happen in automatic form. this was very easy to do in Blogger v2.0 (old blogger) because of the blogger $TAGS$, however the way to do it has changed in Blogger v3.0 (the new one) . but i will look into replacing blogger comment system with alternatives in Bloggeratto since that custom use is beyond the theme of Widgetslab.

Thank you very much for the reply, avatar. I’ve done and re-done the installation using js-kit’s instructions, but can’t get it to work. When I try to use the comments widget as they suggest in their instructions (inserting the code into the main code of my blog), any existing or additional comments are cloned twice in every post. This means that if there’s a single post with six comments made through js-kit, then ALL my posts will have those six comments, twice.
I managed to get round the problem by inserting the code into individual posts as mentioned before, but it’s still not right.
I have my blog set up to ‘one post on the main page’ and am using labels as a means of links in the sidebar. In each post, I change the js-kit ‘path’ to the url of that post’s page, so that comments for that post know where to go.
But what happens now, is that the test comments I have made, will only show up on the latest post, even if they weren’t initially made on that post.
What I’m trying to say, is that I can direct the comments to a particular post (using the label in the path’s url), but I can’t direct them AWAY from the latest post, because the latest post goes on the main page and doesn’t have a label assigned to it.
