Widget news RSS widget

If you are looking for a widget that displays current news centered around widgets and badges…look no further!
I decided that promoting a widget with just widgetslab’s information on it, is kinda self centered. So I wanted to include everyone who writes about widgets and the like.
Here is what I came up with…
Google does search!
This is something just about everyone knows. Google = search…so I decided to create a Google Blog Search for widgets and similar articles then I grabbed the RSS feed for the results and popped them into a pre-existing widget designed for this purpose.
Why Google Blog Search?
If something gets written about a popular topic on something other than a blog…someone else will blog about it. This is a fact! and this is why I picked Google Blog Search.
I used a Grazr! Baaa Baaa (not!)
I have placed the Google Blog Search results RSS feed into a Grazr RSS widget.
Grazr has the most flexibility of any RSS widget that I have seen. What I have done here barely scratches the surface of the capabilities of the Grazr service.
Most widgets can be easily installed into any web page. Grazr takes it a step or two further by allowing you to place their widget in places like PageFlakes and Netvibes and many others.
I don’t like widgets!
Thats OK…you don’t have to. However, you may want to check out these resources:
1. How to search the Web
2. Dictionary.com
3. What is search?

Google Blog Search and Grazr Equals News Widget
Derek over at Widgets Lab did a quick mashup of Google Blog Search and Grazr to give us a nice widget news widget. Basically the Google Blog Search, “widget” and “webwidget”, is provided in RSS format and fed into Grazr, an OPM…

Hi Derek, thanks again for the mention! Don’t know if you’re aware of it or not, but another thing you can do with grazr is embed forms to be able to do these kinds of searches on any keyword. This is done using our nascent scripting system GrazrScript. We’ve got some cool stuff in store for GrazrScript, some of it which should start appearing very soon (within the next month or so).
Here’s an example using GrazrScript that does a simple search across multiple search services.

Here’s our tutorial on GrazrScript:

Once again, thanks!

Try Yourminis…their widgets are Myspace friendly and you can create an RSS news style widget similar to the one described in this post.

Hi - just surveying reader widgets; this looks pretty sweet.
But you write “Click on the “Plus” symbol above to get yours!” and there’s no [+] symbol to be seen.
HeyHo

@Ben Tremblay: yeah, sorry. the past has not been updated. the widget had updated itself from the time it was reviewed. so it is no longer the same widget. now you can use the “share” button to get the widget
