iPhone Widget Prototype
What is this?
The My First Mac iPhone Widget Prototype is an iPhone specific way of viewing three basic features from MyFirstMac.com: Article of the Day, Tip of the Day and Mac Link of the Day.
It was created to explore the challenge of creating a widget specifically for the iPhone screen that brings together the form factor of Widgets (or Gadgets) with the technology expected in Safari on iPhone.
But why not just view a normal web page with iPhone?
You’ll notice in the iPhone ads and demos that a typical web post or article is never really viewed. Why? Standard article pages will still be too small to read easily. I expect that a new format will emerge for iPhone browsing that will be somewhere between WAP sites for brevity, widgets for design and RSS readers for format.
This summer is going to be interesting…

Upon reading this I decided that I couldn’t have said it better so I decided to quote it and give credit. -Derek
