One of the new or not so new but getting more spread trends in widgets this year is gonna be the proliferation of Widgets as Virtual Goods, and what a better way to start with something that even in real life is ephemeral but always a easy way to cheer up or touch almost any girls heart:

Flowers,that is.

But since i am online a lot and i wanna not only look clever but hip, i can now use They´re Beautiful, a new start up to do just such a thing, because lets face it, e-cards by themselves just don´t cut it anymore.

Developed by a former Microsoft Designer team, this start up allows you to send Free virtual flowers to any girl you fancy at will, not even a registration is requiered, but as with all things online, following the formality of the registration will give you benefits, and the main benefit at this Beta stage is to have a place to keep the Flowers people sent you in a greenhouse, and even pour some e-water to them so they never die and always hold the memory of the time when you recived them, is not that cool?, even poetic?…maybe, maybe not, but it sure is Meta, and i love being Meta, producing real life results from fictional things is a blast.

The site is very pretty, the flowers are well designed, and i am very sure it will evolve nicely (bloom?), right now it is just the set up, a tease, or if you want to continue the romantic thinking, the first opening of the first flower.

So, c´mon. Go and send a friend a bouquet, and please register. That way if for some reason you don´t get the e-mail where she sent you flowers as a reponse back to yours, you can then have it in your Greenhouse and the moment will not get lost, and just if your friend is not only romantic but a show off, she can brag around about her greenhouse and how many bouquets she recived because she can also embed her greenhouse around for anyone to see.
