SpringWidgets is kicking off the football season with two excellent NFL football widgets.
The Gametrax widget features a Flash code embed, making it an “Everywhere Widget”. This widget displays two teams each with links to player stats on the Fox Sports network. You will also find game times or final scores. The widget makes it easy to scroll through the games in a simple right/left arrow format. (right for finished games and left for future games)

I have included a screen shot that indicates the widget or service behind the widget may need to be updated to reflect recent news concerning a certain QB from Atlanta.
Other than this minor oversight, the widget is pretty cool. Of course it won’t fit into most sidebars but I don’t think it’s intended for the sidebar. I find that the Gametrax widget would make a great addition to the bottom of the posting area or even work well as a compliment to a football related post on a blog. The next widget is tailored expressly for the sidebar.
The Scoreboard widget is another Flash based widget. This will allow you to completely pimp out your Myspace page in the latest football information. (if thats your thing)
But wait…it doesn’t stop there. This widget delivers all the scores from the professional teams and even from the college teams. Of course the minor sports such as golf, Nascar and bowling are not represented. You can’t have everything!

He goes into court this morning and after his plea Atlanta will reveal their updated roster I’m sure. Personally, I think that the whole sport is better of without that sort of activity that Vick was involved with. Sad and wasteful really.
