QEDwiki is not exactly a widget service or a consumable web widget, but is a interesting development anyway, it is in a sense a service that pretty much represents what web 2.0 is about.. powered by IBM in a way to promote and engage the use of SOA (service oritented apps) and Situational Applications, they have created a mashup hub on their own in a vein that would need to mix the concept of Popfly with dapper along their own focus to be described easily

They have called the service   "A powerful browser-based assembly canvas for mashups and situational applications" and what powers the service itself is the widgets provided to mash and adjust than in the end become such situational applications in a SOA sense.

It is worth of note because it shows how even the blue house is interested and determined to get into web 2.0 and because it also shows how the word and concept of what a widget is and how it should be taken as has grown exponentially during the last year from pretty much a simple buzz word to a integral word of the new web.

I could talk more about the actual service QEDwiki provides beyond what i have already written, but it cannot be done in a brief way, so i will better direct you to their F.A.Q page too:
