Awesome widgets to boost affiliate conversion!

Today Amazon announced their new cadre of widgets aimed at boosting their affiliate army.
Amazon/Widgets
The new widgets are appealing visually, easily configurable and have a small foot print. These widgets are FREE to use and take virtually no time to set up. Each widget can be customized to blend with your site and display your favorite products and comments about those products. You’ll have no problem picking out products to display. Remember, Amazon has the earth’s largest selection of products.

…and if you are too lazy to choose your products…

There is also a widget that will display products based upon the content of your site. Its called ‘Omakase’ and it will, through some sort of proprietary software, mine your site’s content and then it will display products accordingly. I am actually curious to see what type of Amazon products are related to the content on Widgets Lab.

Amazon will be adding many more affiliates to their ranks with this offering. How can they go wrong making it this easy? With 16 widgets in all, people who have thus far avoided becoming an affiliate, may find themselves joining up just to see how it all works.

Existing Amazon affiliates are bound to find one or two that suits them as well.

Thanks for taking the time to review these widgets. I just wish that the Amazon flash ferris wheel widget would allow you to choose a background color. For that matter, I wish that Amazon gave us designers a bit more control over a lot of things. :(

I love the widgets. I just started building them and they really work well. http://www.slickcameras.com will have a few of them soon.

    Thanks
