Starting yesterday MyBlogLog requires a Yahoo ID to log in.

I understand the need to get all Yahoo! properties under a single login. However, I do not understand the need to force users to create a Yahoo! account to keep using the MyBlog Log service. Now I suppose I’ll have to manually login to Yahoo! every time I want to do something in MyBlogLog. I even get to agree to a Yahoo! TOS! Nice.

Here is their announcement at the MyBlogLog blog

Whats next?
I suppose the next thing they will do is limit how many friends I can make in a day…whats that? They already did? …Figures!

I suppose they will put MyBlogLog on the Yahoo! turtle server…What? Don’t tell me! Arrrgh!

So now I have this Yahoo! account that I view as useless to me (except for the MBL login) …wait…I like Flash games, trial ware and celebrity gossip! Isn’t Yahoo! the King of this type of stuff?

Yahoo! redeems itself!
Yahoo! plans on making the MyBlogLog Pro paid Accounts FREE for everyone? …wait for it… …here it comes…

what the hell Derek?, are you all right?

  2. It was a good rant. It felt good to unload on the giant, even though it doesn’t know I’m here.
