jQuery is a Javascript Library, there are many of those but what makes this one special and relevant to us it that it offers some utility widgets you can choose to use for your blog or website and that will not depend on a third party host you can control but of your own hosting choice, something that even it seem petty by what today widget services provide, some would like.
these widgets depend on a mark and a a some lines of code you can add to your hosted or non hosted (wordpress) with HTML editing options blog (blogger) along with your website.
These include from a sliding menu to a calendar and can be of interest for some.

It is interesting to note how as 2007, advanced widgets started to jump to plaftforms, editors and interfaces in form of modules and now they are even there as predesigned application for effects and development libraries like jquery.
