Shelfari is a widget service derek reviewed quite some time ago but they have recently upgraded their widgets, launched a facebook application and even started to improve their site a lot.
Some of the improvements to the widget come with amazon targeting, given amazon new affiliates program for partner is easier to integrate amazon targeting in third party widgets, shelferi got into that by allowing direct link to amazon from your shelfari bookshelf to the respective amazon page allowing you to benefit from it and of course shelfari benefiting from it too. that is a perfect mentization model for shelfari to follow, after all it is alla baout reading andshowing of reading interests in the first place but now you can add "Book Pimping" to sheflari objectives.
Along with that option comes more customization and better developed widgets, meaning better integration with myspace, livejournal, blogger, textpattern, wordpress and of course facebook with their new F8 App.
i find weird that they don´t have version of the shelfari widget designed for start pages and other services like live spaces but i guess they are very focused on form and factor, and at this moment those two things make it more of a blog/widget/profile widget.
