myAOL beta start page is now at BETA stage but it head into a direction i like a lot by offering a full fledged feed reader and Bookmark manager that because of their usability could easily convince someone to switch too. Well you only need a AOL or AIM screename to join your start page and give it a go.

I am still using IE7 feed reader for my daily needs because it allows me to keep track of thousands of items by feed on one go and search from an archive I can create in it.

But it does have some shortcomings with not being really social, not having  a feed directory to browse, and not allowing scripts, embeddables or certain photos to render inside it.

And since i don´t google reader way of doing things there was not a really serious option to choose until this new service. I recommend it for your feed reading needs on the go, as a way to back up your opml in live form and a service to really keep an eye on.

There are only 3 things i would want in it to switch:

1.-Better Management control (i got way to many feeds i need multiple feed editing and management with a better drag and drop)

2.-Better settings: allow me to tweak how many post i want the service to track, give me options to mark unread and read feeds.

3.-Let me customize it and share it in better ways.

In any way, it is worth checking out.

Now, i must thank the myAOL team for adding Widgets Lab as a picked feed to choose in the tech section of the feed directory among the best of the crop, thank guys.
