Plaxo Pulse: Lifestream Feed Widget

Plaxo, the network that touted itself as a Facebook open alternative where wallen gardens of information are not meant to exist just launched this week a way to widgetize your lifestrream feed known as Pulse and the form of a Universal News Feed from the perspective that is the total output of information that you can take out of Plazo Pulse.

In my perspective this is indeed about lifestreaming and social awareness converged thanks to a widget that you take as a point of reference to that convergence of information, and that widget could be considered Online Identity display because it is not just a feed running by it, it is the aggregated feed of all the feeds produced from the services you use.

That in layman terms you can see as Rss news ticker badge where everything displayed is about you for everyone to be aware of.

The widget comes in Script Flavor so, it is more of a Blog widget and that is a bummer considering that it should be everywhere.

If you want to know more about this and plax, you can go and read Sexy Widget take on it:

it’s too bad that Plaxo didn’t learn the lesson from Facebook and give users the ability to turn this feature off if you want privacy. The way Pulse is configured, every one of your Plaxo contacts sees all your other activity. Nice! The party photos I uploaded for my friends also get sent to my co-workers and there is no way to prevent it. Great idea Plaxo!

yes, it can get too open at times, it needs what i call “common sense” filtering. :P
