AdaptiveBlue with two new tricks

SmartLinks and SmartLinks widgets may make you money!

AdaptiveBlue has recently released their SmartLinks blog plugin. With a simple 1 click install for Blogger and TypePad (plugin for WordPress) and an Amazon affiliate account, you can monetize your entire blog.

Links in posts are associated with related products on Amazon. For example If you had a link to an album from any popular artist, readers will be able to click on the SmartLink and have access to album art, music downloads, band merchandise etc. Since Amazon is the worlds retailer, I think you could acquire many affiliate commissions on most any topic.

Choose a SmartLink Widget from more than 50 top lists by your favorite websites. Netflix, iTunes, Yahoo! and even Blockbuster are available. The Amazon lists can also be monetized through the Amazon affiliate program. When users click on the ‘SmartLink’ blue button, they are presented with many more options to find out more info about the item. This little window appears onsite so your readers don’t have to leave. Sweet!

Customization is king!
Widgets are customizable with 4 skin choices and two widget layout choices. (List style and Grid style) Width is up to you. Any pixel width you desire can be entered. You also can choose the number of items shown in your widget and whether there are descriptions, images or links with any combination of each. Sorting the list is another option as well.

This is very important when trying to get more users for your widgets. Everyone wants their widget to blend into their site and look professional. The one thing I would want to see is more color options. 4 skins just don’t cut it when people have the rainbow to choose from when designing the color scheme for their sites.

One quick thing – the SmartLinks blog plugin automatically inserts SmartLinks for a large number of sites – books/music/etc. on Amazon, movies on Netflix/IMDB/Blockbuster, and dozens more.

AdaptiveBlue is definitely better than I have previously given it credit. I’m glad to see that Alex has visited to see the post and I trust that it met with his approval. I also noted thet Howard L. was here to check it out. I am surprised neither one commented though.

Thanks again for helping open my eyes to this great service/ widget.
