Goodwidgets.com is up for auction
Mashable has reported the the widget site ‘GoodWidgets.com is up for sale on sitepoint.
Mashable has reported the minimum price is $10,000 and that no one has bid yet. The auction seems to last for some 25 days.
The auction page itself, indicates that the minimum bid is actually $50,000. The site could also be bought outright for $100,000.
This price seems to be extremely steep, considering that GoodWidgets has indicated monthly revenue of $200. Not considering hosting fees. It would take 25 years just to break even ($60,000 sale price)
I am thinking that they have set up this auction and did not proof read it before submitting it. They may have missed a couple zeros.
Of course its completely possible that they are actually trying to sell the domain. It is a great domain, but it’s not $100,000 great. (IMHO)
