Hyplet: Super Easy ID Badge Generator

by Avatar Stumble this! January 03rd 2008

One of the most common complaints  i hear from people is that web services are not easy enough for newbies, well, this service in particular wil not have that kind of criticism, is so easy to use that everyone can use it, i mean you could train a monkey to use it.

The service in question is Hyplet, their slogan is “Your Online Signature” and that remark fails to convey directly what they are about. Hyplet lets you generate ID Badges, Cards and Flyers so you don´t have to get into the hassle of doing so and so you can protect yourself from spam bots better.

How?, simple, with a easy to use generator that can let you create a online card for your e-mail or forum ID, a Blog Badge so you don´t write the address directly into text so Spam bots cannot steal your information to  put them in their mailing lists.

As a extra novelty you can also generate flyers to promote yourself, a event, a blog, and anything you want, showing a useful reuse of their service and maybe a hint that it can be used for more in the future.

But the really good thing about the service are the controls, they are really super easy, if you know how to write a E-mail, you know how to use this, they are also very “office” like to make you feel that extra familiarity with their interface and the options got everything you need:

I truly like the service, i think it is a great idea in principle, a great execution and deserves extra points for going the greater lengths to make is easy and even offer up a ready to tutorial that loads while you creater and that you can watch without shutting down what you are creating.

Now the only thing i would want, is that they would offer a advanced user version of this. so power users could join into the fray and the service can get  a better word of mouth from a influential crowd so it evolves faster. i would love to be able to create better badges with gif support or  be able to do them in flash or in silverlight if possible  so the idea could go further than what they intended.

  1. I like the idea a lot as well, in my opinion the company really needs to implement some kind of viral grabbing to the widget and tracking. like using Launchpad or something http://www.clearspring.com/

  2. Yes, without a doubt, they need to do a advanced user version and risk with a commercial version of it, it could be a good opportunity for them.

but i was hearing that it was a start up related to a microsoftie and that will explain the Office like feel and the fast that is running a very well implemented asp.net ajax start up and controls
