Simply paste the JavaScript into your template. Then make sure to follow the guidelines below.

Just add the proper prefix (e.g., “Rep.”, “Representative”, “Sen.”, “Senator”) to a politicians name in the text of your pages. The first occurance of a politician receives a sun link and popup bubble. Examples: Rep. George Miller☼ and Representative Gwendolynne S. Moore.☼

The info card (popup bubble) displays a small amount of information about the politician you are writing about. The card also contains links to Congressional page, voting record and campaign finance profile.

This widget is an effective tool to shed light on politicians workings and adds a new dimension to the rich resources that bloggers are delivering daily.

  1. I thought I had seen it all… and then I find Rob Paul in a bubble..

  2. Web 2.0 Guy » The politician widget has been around for awhile. It is an easy way for people to add content for their readers without having to do a ton of digging, writing and linking. It also adds a little transparency to some of these candidates legitimacy. With a direct link to their voting records, people can easily see if they are being fed a line of B.S. or if the candidate is for real.

I thought it was important in this US election season.

and yes Ron Paul is there in a bubble. Just because one look at his voting record indicates someone who has stuck to his ideas and beliefs over many years. No B.S. there! (besides…he is very popular and good for traffic)
