Tangler embeds a conversation
February 18th, 2008 by Derek Anderson Leave a reply »Tangler announces the release of their “Live Discussion Forum” as an embeddable widget.
This is great news. The Tangler widget allows you to create an easy to use forum right on your blog. You can use it to have a continuing conversation about any particular topic without losing readers who frequent your latest posts.
The Tangler embed is specific to one topic. So if you want to start a lasting discussion on Three Days Grace for instance, you could.
This is not a general forum where you have multiple sub topics centered around one main topic.
Things to remember
Forum/topic owners have god like moderation abilities. This allows you to censor unruly users and spam.
The widget will handle links and even embedded video. This is an excellent feature in todays video rich communications.
If you want the Tangler Topic in your sidebar, you can edit the code to reduce the size of the widget to fit.
Once you have a Tangler account you will be able to log in on any Tangler forum/topic and post. You will have a searchable record of all your posts on these forums and topics. This is an excellent feature that will allow you to relocate past conversations that might contain information you need at a later date.
Tangler also offers a desktop notifier that you can download and install to monitor the forum topics that you create without having to “be there”.
