MySpace Apps platform, will it thrive over Facebook?

MySpace

There are still those who doubt that MySpace can compete with Facebook. but i find that to be noise. why would MySpace not be able to catch up to Facebook?. they still got the biggest network and global reach compared to Facebook, and their parent company is a media company.. how could they not thrive over Facebook and over anyone for that matter?.

There is also a fundamental point in favor to MySpace. you can put anything on it. the only difference isthat you will be able to put better things into the profiles: better widget, better widget-apps and obvously MySpace branded apps and services.

Those MySpace branded apps is what birng us to remember the Sideline MySpace projects that will mark the difference against facebook:

1.- MySpace TV

While it not reach to youtube levels, it will always remain a good contender and there is a lot of video based widgets and widget-apps that could be based on it to feed their own network.

2.-MySpace Music

The same case than MySpace TV. it will not make services like last.fm, ilike and others to go away but it should put a dent on the rest and it will keep at bay anything Facebook could make in this space. the possible MySpace Apps and Widgets implications with this are obvious and should not be taken lightly.

So, who could MySpace lose here?. i realy don´t see it.

If you want more pespective on this, go and read Josh Catone post on another angle of the discussion.
