“An agile development environment that simplifies the deployment of dynamic Web applications by leveraging REST and scripting runtime such as Groovy and PHP. Project Zero is optimized for producing REST-style services, integration, mash-ups, and rich Web interfaces”
Couldn’t have said it better…without a thesaurus!
WebSphere sMash appears to be IBM’s commercial version of Project Zero. WebSphere sMash was announced yesterday at the IMPACT 2008 conference in Las Vegas, NV.
“WebSphere sMash is a development and execution environment for dynamic web applications.”
(Shipping by the end of June)
Basically it will allow developers to integrate information from various sources (Google, Craigslist, eBay etc.) in order to create more useful information.
Example: Craigslist+Google maps to display maps to all available apartments for rent in a specific area. Developers will then be able to easily put this application into websites so readers can perform their own searches.
