Plusmo Raises 4.4 million dollars, will finally move beyond Iphone Widgets

Plusmo has enjoyed their “we have 20,000 widgets for iPhone” skit for almost 10 months now.

That is not going to last that much longer (thank god) because they finally raised a good funding round for $4.4 Millions and they will use that to get into a post iPhone strategy.

Considering that several high end phones like Nokia iPhone competitor, the F series from Samsung, the Prada 2 and Viewty 2 from LG and Windows Mobile 6.1 devices like the Xperia get unveiled this summer. it makes sense for Plusmo to aim to the future.

All of these phone will be able to run better browsers with Flash (all of them) and Silverlight support (Nokia,Samsung, Windows Mobile) and better widget integration into themselves.

I am glad, that 20k widgets was mostly hype considering they went to the limits of code reuse and over simplistic widgets with it.
