LabPixies raises 1 million in funding

I wrote about Labpixies quite some time ago. we also have covered their more important widgets here at Widgets Lab so we are not a stranger to them. i still must say i am surprised to know that it only has 10 employees. on the other hand that does makes it clear why they have not grown faster.

The other reason may be is that they have never raised any funding until now and maintained their operation by doing custom made widgets and running advertising. they have done well enough and claim 750 million widget views and 41 million people see their widgets every month.

Still a far cry from the main widget companies that are now in Billions of widget views and have all the funding they could possibly need and more.

one million dollars coming from Angel investors should do them well and i hope to see something new coming out of them. like a widget blogs widget with Widgets Lab as first option? (wink) or anything else really

Even then, nice to know the have carried along and that they continue to do well at that scale. but would not be surprised if they got acquired and that may be the only way for they to step given the savage competition in the Widget market.
