It finally happened. Widgets Lab is now a Blog with a 1000+ posts archive. this is a important thing. in terms of Non Personal Blogs. the blogs that follow a Topic and in the case of this blog a very specific niche. it is very important to have what i call Post Wealth. 1000 posts is the mark that officially gives you that.
Why?. simple. because it means you have been writing about your topic long enough for you to be considered an “expert†in the matter and the blog as a valuable source of information in the topic you are focused on. i will do a post on this in Bloggeratto since i think is a good subject to explore for a full post.
1000 Posts
So. 1000 Blog posts. 426 done by yours truly (Avatar) and 574 done by Derek Anderson.
I started in July 8 of 2007. so it is close to a year since i began posting here because Derek invited me to his blog. Derek started Widgets Lab in Blogger in september 23 of 2006 and followed shortly after with WidgetsLab.com in October first of 2006.
Some Notes on Widgets Lab
Since Derek started Widgets Lab, the Widget Market went from almost nothing to being a industry inside the Web 2.0 buzzword we all love on its own right.
The Blog passed from being totally unknown to be the best Blog on Widgets there is. unless my very estimated and regarded competition wants to state otherwise. but i somehow doubt it.
If you search for “MySpace Widgets†in Google you will see Widgets Lab MySpace Widgets Page as the #1 result. if you search in Live Search, AOL, ASK or Yahoo you will see that same as one of the top 1st page results at all times.
It is the first option to follow widgets in My.AOL

and if you use the feed reader in Yahoo Mail.( that by the way. i would love to use more if it only had OPML support.. something i bet most agree on) you can also find us as the first non yahoo option for widgets.

There are more examples like that, but these are enough to express the point i want to make. if you are interested in widgets. you should keep an eye on Widgets Lab. Period
From this point on…
It should be obvious for anyone that follows the blog that the pace has increased quite a bit in the last two weeks. this is something i promised i would do so the blog could grow at a faster rate. to give it a faster posting pace. i made it pass from the previously 1 to 3 posts daily to 3 posts minimum a day on average. after seeing the blog growing close to 1% a day in the previous 2 weeks i incremented the pace, i am now going to do it again, so the blog will be sporting a bare minimum of 100 posts a month while i aim to make it a 125 posts a month blog. that should in turn translate to 5 blog posts a day from Monday to Friday and at least 1 post a day during the weekends.
Many would think that such pace is crazy for a Blog that is about widgets. but i would like to make a observation there: when i started here. i had to hunt down the news like crazy. finding worthy post material on widgets required searching and researching. now?. i got a backlog of 100 things to post plus the day to day news. so yeah. not a problem.
The New Widgets Lab
It is time to move on forward with the blog. so Widgets Lab pace will be not the only thing to change. it will be more promoted, with a new look. totally revamped Advertising options. more SEO-SEP friendly and last but not least: Faster to load.
I am also starting new sections for the blog and increasing the original and exclusive content as it presents possible. this also means that now more than ever. i am willing to receive submissions if you got a widget you think i should have a look at.
You can write to me using AvatarX@Live.com (no, i don`t fear spam, it is not Gmail)
All of this New Stuff i am talking about should present gradually during the next two weeks into the blog and i will return with more announcements to come in early July.
Closing
I want to thank the readers that have been tuning in since the blog started and also the new readers that have joined us in the past month. thank you for your comments and e-mails. keep visiting .
Now lets forward to Widgets Lab second anniversary that should prove to be a blast and stay tuned for further news but more importantly stay with us for another 1000 posts.

Congrats dude

recently I completed my 100 th POST !
p.s Gmail also catches spam easily
well, congrats to you. while this is Widgetslab 1000 post and my 426 post here. i must be over 3000+ posts in my blogging experience.
and on Gmail… no. simply no. i have used hotmail, yahoo, and gmail. since they exist. the new hotmail has proven to be better with spam. but then i am a Live ID plus user. so maybe is that why i don`t get spam at all versus thousands of spam messages in the spam folder and dozens in the inbox with gmail. this is not figuration just from me. Robert Scoble also noted it recently.
Rock On Dudes!!
