Widgetbox Custom Widget Galleries

As announced by Widgetbox. they are now supporting Custom Widget Galleries for Widgetbox produced widgets. it is a evolution of what they before called “Remote Gallery. and the whole central idea is to extend Widgetbox into distributed galleries where anyone can get a hold of a selection of widgets that make sense on a case by case scenario.
This is a interest move in terms of Widget Distribution for Widgetbox that is of course focused on that as their main goal but it proves to be more enticing for the ones using such a service because it becomes Marketed and focused distribution and it is the whole reason to why it is attractive.
There are 3 levels for Custom Widget Galeries:
Standard
No customization, generic looking and Widget Box Branded
Customized
Custom Header and Footer with a Widgetbox Tag
Integrated
Integrated into Xanga, no widgetbox brand tag and you got a fuller control of what is in the widget gallery since it can be considered a partnered custom gallery.
If you don want this and prefer to do it yo way, you can also build your own Widgetbox based gallery from Widgetbox widget feeds.
The other main attractive feature of this is of course the metrics that widgebox can provide anyone using this.
A great update on Widgetbox behalf but i still expected a response from the to the recent surge of advanced widget creators and editors that have been making the rounds. more after they last update that brought up a quick porting option for OpenSocial enabled social networks along facebook.
Well. maybe they do want to stay focused on Widget Distribution. but considering all the movement in widgets. i still think that reinforcing their efforts would be a good idea.
Widgetbox Custom Galleries is a great move that does shows how to extend widgets while at the same time extending mindshare for Widgetbox.
