Facebook New Design now live (for most)

by Avatar Stumble this! July 21st 2008

Facebook New Profile Design is out and that mean that a new reality has started for Widget-app makers and regular Social App makers in Facebook. the major change is of course the profiles now clean look geared into and more focused into Lifestreaming and Aggregation  than Social Apps or Widget-apps.

Then you got new application settings to take note into all without having reached the real turning point that is of course going to be the FB8 conference this year.

Of course that the release of the new look has not been totally painless as there still lots of bugs, glitches and what not around the new facebook.

I for some cannot even see the new design at this moment. maybe it is only truly live for USA users unless it is being released in a particular manner that i am unaware of.

But this should be cleared during the day or the week for everyone and while the new design will be Facebook developers worst nightmare. there is no denying that it was a needed change that will bring more people into facebook or call back old users to increase usage.

  2. I personally feel that this new design is terrible. Why change a good thing? Not only is everything just wider, it is hard to find anything. Especially if you are used to the way it did look. And now my images are huge! What happened to the thumbnails.

I strongly feel that Facebook will be losing out if they launch it. Therefore I created a group so Facebook will know that people don’t like it:

  3. @angellexis: well. there is no good in living in the past. the new design reflects the change to the trends of aggregation, lifestreaming, personal awareness and nanoblogging. those are part of the future. facebook is aiming to that. the problem is that such things are not yet mainstream. but these trends will be mainstream by 2010.
