A perfect option for those that were interested in Silverlight 2 Photogallery but wanted something even lighter and that not only worked with Silverlight 2 beta 2.  The Silverlight Slideshow 1.0 works for both people still using the Silverlight 1.0 plugin and for those already  using Silverlight 2.0. it comes with a different look. something more Polaroid Neo-Retro style. it comes in a MS-PL license. so it means that it is Open Source for you to do anything with it and the full feature list comes as follows:

*Support for many slide transition types
*Smart image scaling and full screen mode
*Slides defined in external XML file with support for paging. Allows for smooth *integration with 3rd party image providers (like Flickr, Picasa, etc).
*Fast start-up and advanced memory management based on paging, image preloading and unloading. Capable of handling extreme large slideshows containing up to 250,000(!) images.
*Customizable look & feel
*Proper progress reporting and error handling
*Small download; uncompressed JScript sources take ~50KB.
*Multi-platform support. Thanks to Silverlight, the slideshow runs in Internet Explorer, Firefox and even on the Mac! IE and Firefox usage has been thorougly tested. Since I don’t own a Mac, I’m not sure how it behaves on that platform. If you have any issues, please let me know!

There is already a version 2.0 coming up but it is likely that the developer will wait until Silverlight 2.0 final is released. once its out i will of course post about it. but the good thing is that this will be still working and as the features list states the performance could not be better. you can also integrate it with third party services and the transition from start size to full screen size is not only fast but smooth. you would almost wish to leave it on as a screensaver. you can view a DEMO of it too
