I remember that a little over 3 months ago i wrote about Gigya Socialize and wonder how and if it could bring a Social Graph into a Widget .you could then connect to a Blog in order to generate instant Social Networking abilities to a blog or a site. looks like they are indeed going for it since they have announced they will add Myspace and Facebook Friend List Support to it.
This is big news. this is what i was talking about when i first mentioned the words “social graphed†and how this will come to widgets. since then we have seen a few examples on how this will come into play with things like the Hi5 Pixverse Pixchat widget, Google Friend Connect or the Pocket Myspace iGoogle Gadget that uses the Myspace Data Availability API. this is also something that google will bring internally to things like iGoogle, Blogger and Orkut in due time. but the trend is clear. Social Graph Extendibility will play a role with widgets. and widgets can be the way for social networks to reach into the web. now we only need to see more examples of this. a OpenSocial, a facebook and a AOL example should not be far away. while it is already there. i think i would be good to wait some more months to see how it evolves and other offerings evolve before going for it.

Thanks for the post. It’s definitely an interesting time. To clarify, Socialize as a product is designed for website owners looking to add social functionality to their sites. Definitely agree that the line between widgets and applications is going to blur – Widget developers stay tuned …
@Liza Hausman: yes. i do understand. it goes from the mybloglog idea and level it up. that is pretty clear. i love your last teasing comment. you know where to write.
