With the release of Silverlight 2.0 final around the corner. Microsoft has started shifting some Microsoft sites to Silverlight and creating new services using Silverlight around their sites too.
One of these new things is the Microsoft PressPass Silverlight Player. this SL Video Player serves the most relevant videos coming from Microsoft and are added to the Embeddable Player as they are released.
What is interested is the design of what they are now pushing as the new Standard Silverlight Video Player. it comes with Quick sharing options for Social Bookmarking, the embed code, email and also provides with direct download links for the videos. if this Silverlight Player got all that. how come something like that cannot be done in the same way for video coming from other companies like Yahoo and Google. seeing this as the standard Silverlight Video Player. makes wonder how good third parties Silverlight Players and Flex Video Players are going to be later on.
Right now. the PressPass Silverlight Players is showing the Ads from the Microsoft Branding Awareness Consumer Campaign made by Crispin Porter + Bogusky with Bill Gates and Seinfeld that have caught quite a storm in the last days on and off the internet.
