The Final “Name†for the LG KP500. you know. the very LG Renoir inspired phone that at the same times is a dig at Samsung Anycall and Omnia (a little) and that comes with the Widgetized Desktop based Flash UI that unless you are blind can easily be compared to Samsung own Widgeized Desktop TouchWIZ UI is not finally named. its name is Cookie.yes, for real!.
LG Cookie is really a bold move in what can be seen as a cheap features phone that is a in the middle of being a Smartphone and a Mediaphone. it counts with:
Quad-band GSM, GRPS/EDGE, 3″ touchscreen display, 3MP camera, accelerometer, BT 2.1, FM radio, an accelerometer and that is thumb optimized so it can be used with one hand.
The Price?. it will be quite cheap. the speculated prices for it are:

If the prices hold trough. you will be having a hard time getting a cheaper featured phone than the LG cookie. i actually see it as the perfect phone to buy to your kids or tweens or the right phone if you want a phone that is modern but your main concerns are having a good “no hassles†phone with solid basic to mid range features. the fact it got widgets it is a plus given you are reading this blog.

How is this even going to come close to competing against the iPhone and the new Google phone? I just can’t see any traction here.
@Allan: It don`t competes with Android or iPhone. neither the new Symbian, or the ALP for that matter and much less with Windows Mobile.
This is a Medium End or Mid Range phone. it is not a sub 100dlls phone but it is also not a over 200dlls phone. This is the kind of phone perfect for Kids, Tweens and even the Elderly. something modern and quickly usable that got good features and that got a good price. an iPhone, a Android device or a Windows Mobile device wont give you that. they are not only more costly but way more complex than this phone.
So. in the end i assure you this kind of phone sells and sells very well. this is the kind of phone without hype that ends up selling 10 million sets around the world without anyone noticing because they are not flashy and that is ok since that was the purpose of it. just a modern utilitarian phone.
This is a very good phone, my daughter who is 13 has this phone, which she enjoys and finds easy enough to use. It is not as high tech as the iphone, but it is good for kids of this age.
The bottom line is that the KP500 is certainly no iPhone, but if a touchscreen is top of your feature list, it offers a relatively competent experience. There’s an on-screen Qwerty keypad, handwriting recognition and an automatically rotating screen — nothing revolutionary, but more than you get on most pay as you go phones. Well I’m 17 and bought this phone as i was after a decent media player and decent mobile social networking which on oranges dolphin paygo tarrif is ideal with this phone,had it for a week or so now and yet to find any major faults with it.it does everything i need it to and its simple enough that i can work it when im steaming =]
for you people trying to compare this to the iphone shut up because this phone is not suppose to be more high tech then it. it just easy to use great for people who just text and does not have to have the internet on the phone lets be honest iphone is over hyped and cost too much for data plans. the cookie is going to be more affordable not better then the iphone
