a Google a day via Deja Google

June 29th, 2011

Google seems to be adding a trivia element to their new social experiment…or is it just me?

Check out ‘a Google a day‘ that I found on the Google homepage today. i see now that it has been around for the last 5 days.

This appears to be a ‘live’ trivia type widget that is currently available on the Google main.

Deja Google: “You are searching Deja Google – A wormhole inspired time machine that enables you to solve today’s puzzle spoiler free by searching the Internet as it existed before A Google a Day launched.”

Voice Search from Google

Did you know that now you can talk instead of type to search on

All you need is Google Chrome 11 or higher and a built-in or attached microphone. Of course you will also need to visit the Google home page to perform the search…but that is obvious.

Speaking your search query frees up your hands for other things…such as kneading dough or counting your money. You’ll be able to easily find what you need just with a few words.

Check out Voice Search from Google today.

Google Nexus Prime

June 28th, 2011

Could this be the name of the first Android phone to sport ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ (Android 4)?

Apparently Samsung will be the manufacturer of this potentially high end device. Check out the possible spec list…a dual-core 1.2 or even a 1.5 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and 4G (LTE) connectivity.

No mention of camera spec yet. But I would peg it at least 8 megapixel.

either a Nexus device, or a “pure Google” flagship handset from one of Google’s key partners — and we now have more information surrounding the world’s most anticipated Android phone. We reported that the handset would nix physical menu keys going forward, and would feature a monster 720p -resolution display, and we have now confirmed with our source that the screen itself is branded as a “Super AMOLED HD” display. The branding confirms our suspicions that Samsung will indeed be the manufacturer. We have also confirmed that the processor in the upcoming device will be an OMAP4460

Remember…this is all still rumor. Nothing has been 100% confirmed…yet.

June 27th, 2011

Everyone that owns a tablet, whether iPad, Android or other will be sorely disappointed when they learn that there are leaked images of a Facebook tablet app for the upcoming HP TouchPad.

Everyone is on Facebook… and just about 7/8 of those people who have tablets, own iPads. They have gotta feel bewildered at the news that Facebook may launch their new tablet app on the HP TouchPad before the iPad. Android owners are used to being second fiddle to the iPad…so no big deal.

There is no doubt that the HP TouchPad is an awesome looking device. Kudos to HP for possibly securing the deal with Facebook for first rights!

Head over to TechCrunch to take a peek at all of the leaked images.
