Do It Tomorrow increases your ability to procrastinate

July 21st, 2011

Do It Tomorrow started out as an Android app and has now become a web app for everyone to use. Don’t worry though…you can still get it on Android.

Put off till tomorrow what you could have done today! Not a bad idea to have a time organizer that can sync to your mobile device.

Do It (Tomorrow) – Add Tasks From Browser & Sync With Android

Do It (Tomorrow) was an Android app we reviewed earlier this month; there is now a web interface for the app that lets you manage the tasks from your browser. Do It (Tomorrow) is a task management web app for the average procrastinator; it plays on our I can do that tomorrow mindset and lets us plan tasks accordingly. As opposed to making a weekly schedule or entering tasks by date, you enter things to do either for today or tomorrow.

Do It (Tomorrow)

The web app is different from others because it effects your mindset; you have either today or tomorrow to do something. The slight quirk that exists when syncing the app with the Android version is that while you must enter the same email ID when you sign up, you must also use the same password as you did for the Android app or the tasks won’t sync.

To enter a task, click add a new task and start typing. Arrows appear next to each task to move them from today to tomorrow. To edit a task, click edit on the top. Once a task is done, simply click it to cross it out. an iPhone app is also available but the free version doesn’t let you sync with other devices. The best reason to use this app is of course the great interface.

Virtual desktops for Windows7. Multi-Tabber

July 20th, 2011

Multi-Tabber give you up to 10 Virtual Desktops on your Windows7 computer. This is an awesome feature…but for some reason Microsoft keeps forgetting to add virtual desktops as standard fare.

I would like to see the ability to set different backgrounds for each desktop. These would act as instant visual reminders as to which desktop you are on.

Multi-Tabber Adds Up To 10 Virtual Desktops, Extends Windows 7 Taskbar

Multi-Tabber is a Windows application which adds additional virtual desktops. Handy for people who require running many applications and often find their taskbar to be cluttered with multiple items. Multi-tabber allows having upto 10 different virtual desktops which can be easily switched by small buttons which appear just above the taskbar. The virtual desktops are intangible and can be easily removed by exiting the application from the system tray. You can also change tab colors and select the number of screens to view simultaneously. This can give your Windows PC a Ubuntu style work space-switching functionality.

Once Multi-Tabber is installed, it displays different virtual desktop buttons above the taskbar. You can click on any of the virtual desktop buttons to switch to them.

Google Labs put to rest…now what?

July 20th, 2011

Seems that Google is doing more house cleaning/consolidation. I believe this could be a fantastic move on their part.
It may hurt in the beginning, all this change, but in the long run…Google will be able to focus better and improve on core features such as Search, Gmail, Google+ and others.

I just hope they leave Google Alerts alone ;)

Google’s ’20 Percent Time’ Will Survive The Death of Google Labs

Google announced this morning that it will be shutting down Google Labs, a platform that allowed users to interact and give feedback on experimental products produced by Googlers in their 20 Percent Time.

While many were left wondering, Google tells me that the company has no changes to announce with regards to the 20 Percent Time program; killing Labs doesn’t mean the discontinuation of the one day a week Googlers get to spend on “projects that aren’t necessarily in [their] job descriptions.” “We’ll continue to devote a subset of our time to newer and experiment projects,” Google representative Jason Friedenfelds tells me.

Google has yet to respond to my inquiry about where all the 2o Percent Time projects will go after Labs’ shutdown, but it’s a good guess that a lot of those efforts will be refined and funneled into Google+. Instead of a bunch of random and unrelated ideas we’ll start seeing bigger Google+ bets like Gmail+  or Aardvark integration in addition completely independent projects like Photovine, Disco and Pool Party.

July 19th, 2011

You don’t need to update the app, just open Google Maps for mobile on your phone with Android 2.0+ and zoom in to a city with 3D buildings. Maybe even inspire you to be a 3D Model Designer! Enjoy!

source:Google Mobile Blog

Last December, the release of Google Maps 5.0 for Android ushered in the next-generation of mobile maps where you can rotate, tilt, and zoom in and out of 3D maps. Whether you’re on the go or playing with a new phone, seeing a 3D skyline spring up in New York City, Zurich, Milan, and other cities is a helpful, fun, and unique experience–an experience we want as many of you as we can to have for your city.

We’ve been adding more cities and you will now find that 3D buildings are available in London, Paris, Barcelona, Stockholm, Singapore, Lisbon, Boulder, and 11 major cities in South Africa.
