Check out color e-Paper Module from Fujitsu

July 11th, 2011

It appears that the days of black and white E-Ink are very numbered. Most likely in the near future, the only black E-Ink book readers you will see are very low end and maybe ad supported Kindles HA!

It looks like Fujitsu are next up to the plate with the unveiling of its latest color e-Paper Module. Designed to be used in eReaders, the color e-Paper Module uses Cholesteric LCD technology instead of traditional LCDs that has been in use all this time.

Cholesteric liquid crystals don’t require polarizing plates, reflecting plates, color filters or back lights, which means that they can be thin, light and bright. Fujitsu also decided to replace Windows with Linux, leading to increased performance of the module. No word on when we’ll be seeing it in use, but from what we’ve seen so far it looks pretty impressive.

Do It Tomorrow for Android

July 6th, 2011

Here is a ‘Don’t Forget the Milk’ app for people who want lists but would loike to complete them on their own time. Do It Tomorrow for Android allows you to easily put off today what you can easily do tomorrow. With ‘cloud sync’, this app becomes even easier to hurry up and procrastinate!

Do It Tomorrow allows you to put off today what can be done tomorrow. The application allows you to enter reminders into a virtual note book quickly and easily. The UI is intuitive and as the app implies, you can easily push events and reminders off to the following day with the click of a button. Another nice feature of course, is cloud synchronization.
