The Velvet Pancakes

So, a couple of weeks ago, I find out that a co-worker is in a band. I decide to ask him about it and he tells me the name of the group is ‘The Velvet Pancakes‘.
He proceeds to explain that the name comes from the movie ‘Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

He tells me that they play ‘Classic Rock’. So I figure that they are just another cover band.

I was totally wrong!

The Velvet Pancakes play all their own music and they play it well. (IMO)

Here is track #1 (‘Push Came to Shove’) from the album ‘Short Stack’.

1 – Push Came To Shove

A certain type of sound that can come from an orchestral bell. (As made Famous by Jhon C. Reiley’s character Dewey Cox in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story)
“Make it sound like it did last night, that thing where it sounds like velvet pancakes”
– Dewey Cox
