Buy Used Smartphones and Save Money

The average cell phone contract is a huge rip off. Consider that you are signing a ‘contract’ that is open ended. Meaning the carrier can change the terms of service at any time and your only recourse is to leave. If you cancel your contract, you may be liable for ETF sometimes into the $300 range.
Remember, you signed the contract in order to save $ on that shiny new smartphone. Generally you are told that you are saving $149 to $300 based on the carriers inflated smartphone prices. Roughly $45 to $50 per month of your contract price is paying for your phone. 10 months of your contract would buy you any phone out there for $500

Unfortunately the carriers are wise to this. They have started to make you sign a new 2year agreement basically any time you need some sort of help. (exaggerated)

Your best bet is something like a T-Mobile prepaid type of setup. For $50 per month, you get ‘Unlimited’ everything. The best part though is you now have a GSM phone that you can take out your ‘SIM card’ and put in any T-Mobile phone without any hassle.

Now you can hunt Craigslist or eBay for your ‘slightly’ used smartphone and slap a big old smile on your face. Knowing that you are saving money and can do as you please without a B.S. contract hanging over your head.
