Barnes & Noble doesn’t really want you sideloading apps on a NOOK Tablet – Liliputing

Barnes & Noble doesn’t really want you sideloading apps on a NOOK Tablet – Liliputing.

The actual number of Barnes & Noble customers that want to ‘customize’ their device in this way is something like 3%. The other 97% of customers can surely support B&N in their hour of need.

The reason the NOOK Tablet has a locked bootloader and the NOOK Color does not, it turns out, is because of hardware security features built into the TI OMAP4 dual core processor in the new NOOK Tablet. In order to provide HD quality video from Netflix, B&N locked the bootloader for security purposes.

This is only a small part of the truth.

B&N wants to keep you in their ecosystem supporting their brand and not venturing off the farm to get that app that is actually supposed to be FREE.

RAZR MAXX to have 3300 mAh Battery, Heavy Users Breathe Sigh of Relief | TalkAndroid.com

RAZR MAXX to have 3300 mAh Battery, Heavy Users Breathe Sigh of Relief | TalkAndroid.com.

A 3300 mAh battery is the biggest that I have yet seen in a handset. Puny in a tablet…but HUGE in a phone. Must see at least two to three days with moderate use.

RAZR MAXX. The MAXX boasted a 21 hours of talktime which is unheard of on a 4G LTE device. Sadly it added a little bit more thickness and heft but not much as the phone is still just 1.8mm thicker than that of the original Droid RAZR. The one thing that was missing from the announcement though was the exact battery size. Well after some careful sleuthing it appears that the device will tote a 3300mAh battery which is almost double the 1780mAh battery the RAZR came with.

LG to launch Android phones with VMware virtualization on Verizon ‘in the coming months’ | The Verge.

I love the thought of this!

I don’t even have a company paid cell phone, but I think this will easily be hacked to virtualize any second device that you may have lying around.

I could access my old HTC Hero and use it to do…?

Whatever, it’s cool shit!

This is what the white Galaxy Nexus looks like | Android Central.

Black or White seems to be the only colors that phones can come in now days. If you remember, Sony occasionally put out a phone with a bit of color in it.

There is something to be said for a brushed metallic appearance as well.

However…this is HOT!

…of course, I just like the phone and don’t really care what color it is (except pink…that would not be good.)
