NeoEdge is Advertising-Marketing Network that places targeted Ads in casual games and does marketing on the games they serve Ads in. of their many ways to market the games, they got two that go hand in hand.

The first part is a Affiliate program for Blogs and Websites to promote the Ad Driven Games. the second part is tat you do such promotion with a interactive Widget. this widget serves as a portable catalogue of the 400 games in their library of casual games and it lets you browser all the games in that catalogue and download the games.

The use of a widget for such a ambitious campaign should be applauded, i do. more because they do got the details figured out. the Widget by it self cannot do good without the content, the advertising, the marketing, the metrics, etc, etc.

I also like that the widget takes in count a flexible model that can be take advantage Bloggers in familiar way to “Adsense” like qualities.

I am interested in seeing more of this widget, so i will try to get more info on it and post about it.

It should be take in consideration that just 6 months ago a widget such like this one would have been impossible because of all the mentioned details behind it and even some of the technicalities.

6 months from now, this kind of distributive widgets should be the common and they are also a step before the full “store in a Widget” i have been looking for to appear for almost a year now.

Widgetbucks partners with Marchex and BlueLithium

May 7th, 2008

Focus is on delivering premium CPM ads to the WidgetBucks publishers and expanding spread of CPC product ad widgets

The partnership with BlueLithium focuses on WidgetBucks Alternative Display Advertising (ADA). Results will include more advertising from differing sources including a variety of alternatives to the main WidgetBucks ad widget.

Microsoft Live Search is one of the first advertisers. The Live Search ad acts as a sort of pre-roll ad to the WidgetBucks CPC widget. A one time showing as far as I can tell.

The Marchex partnership works a bit differently.

According to TechCrunch, Marchex will use WidgetBucks to expand its ability to provide solutions for local advertisers. Marchex also plans to incorporate the WidgetBucks ad widget into the many sites in the Marchex network.

TechCrunch/Duncan Riley:

“The deal with Marchex sees WidgetBucks powering local, debt/ finance, and pay-per-call advertising across Marchex’s local content network. WidgetBucks’ ad widgets will be integrated into hundreds of sites across Marchex’s content network.”

A conflict?
I may be over reacting to this… but there seems to be a small conflict here where products overlap.

In this example we see a video camera listed for $188.00 on the Marchex network page videocamera.com. (presumably this is an ad from a paying customer)

Right next to this advertisement the WidgetBucks ad widget can be seen.

In plain sight on the widget, we can see the very same product listed at a lower price from a different vendor.

Is there any possibility that this is a conflict for advertisers? Or should no one care?

Npost Startup Jobs Widget

March 11th, 2008

Build a Widget Step 1 (Beta)

Npost is online service to find Jobs, Interviewers and Events. simple as that. what makes the different from the crowd of other job posting services is that cover a very specific niche only, startup jobs and that they offer a simple but yet useful widget where you can see the latest job offerings but also search for more specific job listings.

They also got a affiliate program to go with the widget, so if yo got a tech related blog and want to give it a try, you should check it out too.

The Widget is still a work in progress but it does offer good basic features and works fast.

Clearspring + Pointroll = Ad layers for widgets

December 10th, 2007

well, that  didn’t take long, it seems like clearspring is not going to let Google or anyone to have all the fun so they made a partnership with Pointroll to create a Ad network for widgets, that can be placed as a clickable layer in the widgets as a way of monetize more their offerings and offer users and co-developers a way to monetize themselves better.

another interesting development to watch out from one of the top ten widget companies, that is for sure.
