blipbomb video comments widget

October 22nd, 2009

blipbomb_logo

blipBomb lets you add video comments to almost any page.

By “any page” they mean that you can record a comment using your webcam and blipbomb, then paste the resulting code into the comments section of your favorite social site.
Facebook and MySpace are supported as well as a bunch of others. I assume with the proper permissions, you can post video comments to blogs as well.

Here is a screen capture of what a blipbomb video comment looks like. (I’ll also post a random working comment from the blipbomb site…but I assume that users can delete these, so…)

MAKE YOUR OWN BLIPBOMBS!

blipbomb and blipback are creations of Ojingolabs.com which bills itself as “Social Media Software To Go”. smells like widgets to me!

Zemanta and LastFM

March 24th, 2009

Zemanta today announced on the Zemanta blog, that through a partnership with last-fm, you can now add a last-fm widget to a blog post with a simple drag-N-drop from the Zemanta browser add-on.

As of today, you’ll find a new widget in Zemanta Gallery – Last.fm musicians radio widget, that allows you to directly embed their radio station into your blog posts. It doesn’t play just that artist, but also similar artist to them. Support is not only limited to widgets as music related links now also have that musicians or album Last.fm page as linking option.

The widget will look just like this. There are four basic color choices and you can choose between two different sizes. (this is the big one) There is also an auto-play feature but that annoys a large number of people so I would suggest skipping that option.

I’m not currently using Zemanta so I am not sure whether or not all of the customization options are available through the Zemanta interface.

Grooveshark Widgets

Grooveshark is a Music search engine + Music Online Service. just like seeqpod and many others. they are good and they know it. that is why they have now adventured into the world of Widgets powered by them. Grooveshark Widgets is the Widget Editor page where you can quickly create your Music Playlist Player Widget in no time and without having to upload your own songs. but with the option to do so if you want to.

tmp244

The first thing you note is how well designed the Grooveshark Widget Editor is and how everything feels very polished.your first step is choosing from the available Widget Skins/Themes. right now there are only two. one looks ok and the other truly sucks. i am amazed that they went with such a horrid design to highlight this new service. it is truly one of the worst designs i have seen this year.

tmp245

Since there is not much of a choice you will end up with the Chamelon Skin i just called horrible and will try to customize it to be less ugly. it is almost certain that you will fail and the widget will still be ugly. but at least is free right?

tmp248

Once you have your design setup. you will pass to step two and choose your music to be played in the widget. this is fast and easy and the grooveshark database is good and found many non commercial bands i threw at it. one click and your widget is updated on a live preview window without a hitch. once the service gets more skins. it will be a really really good Music Widget service.

tmp24F

Now that you have picked your songs, you can press finish and your widget code will be generated. and you will also be offered options as to how you want to embed your widget into your page, your social netowrk profile or blog sidebar. this thanks to one of the new Clearspring Lauchpad modules (High Spread Sharing) that assure you to be able to take your widget to the top 30 online destinations with ease.

tmp24A

And this is how your widget using the Chameleon skin will look once in your blog under the standard measurements and settings. the Grooveshark Widgets service is really good but as i said. they need better Widget Skins ASAP. other than that it should be a great option for anyone to use. i would compare the service to a mix of Mixwit with Deezer. those are good Widget services to be compared with so give Grooveshark a try.

Personal Life Media Podcast Player Widget

Got a interest in podcasting?, you listen to podcast shows or you do a podcast show?. any of those 3 choices would be good enough for you to be interested in Personal Life Media Podcast Player Widget (yeah, long title, i know) where you can put shows they got on like these:

tmp146

They got topics for everything. but the content does feels like the public radio channels, clear channel radio or the basic cable channels with topical content. but many like those too!. so if you like them, you can put them in your Podcast Player Widget. you can also apply to become a host of one. but don`t worry. you are not obliged to put them in your widget. you can also put your own podcasts into it.

The Widget

tmp147

It reminds me a little of the jiwa player 2.0 but for podcasts and that is exactly how it could be described. just like a good music player widget. but for podcasts. it comes with customization of colors and size and when you generate the code it also counts with a High Spread Sharing module powered by gigya wildfire to make it easy to use. the widget is done in flash. so you can put in in myspace, your blog or share it to facebook or most social networks. there are many podcast players. but good ones?, very few. i would say this one is a good one. recommended.
