BBC iPlayer for Android released UK only

The BBC, known the world over as a reliable source of news and information about events across the globe, has released their iPlayer for the Android mobile OS.

The player allows streaming of BBC TV programming, radio content and includes many of the features from the desktop version, which includes series stacking, live TV, and radio streaming.

The player currently works on Android 2.2 and up and it is recommended that your device has a powerful processor, have Flash installed, and 3G -data plan- or WIFI connection to ensure a smooth viewing experience.

BBC iPlayer is only available on mobile phones within the UK. How you can access programmes depends on your phone and network. Programmes can be played through a wi-fi connection and, for 3 UK or Vodafone customers (except those using Android, Apple or Symbian^3 devices), over a 3G network. The BBC is working to make BBC iPlayer available over more 3G networks.
