Looks like Don Reisinger  at CNET does love the Opera Browser and since he got another post on Opera Widgets, i think it would be a disservice to not highlight it too.

Before, it was about 10 Great Opera Widgets. Now it is about Math and Science Opera Widgets.

Yahoo Toolbar 8.0 and 2.0 Beta: Catching Up With The Times

Yahoo Toolbar 8.0 (IE) and 2.0 Beta (FireFox)  is out and its new. but if you suddenly feel invaded by a Deja Vu looking at this picture:

It is ok to be. you are not losing your mind. Yahoo Toolbar 8 is indeed familiar. The reason it is so familiar is because it shamelessly copies from IE8 WebSlices, Google Toolbar 8 and MSN Silverlight Toolbar. so there is not much to say about it for you if you are already a IE8 user. but i do give it to them: it looks great. so if you are a Yahoo Fan, you like Yahoo Widgets, this is a must. otherwise don’t bother  with it if you already have IE8 since you can get Yahoo Webslices and Accelerators and replace most of the Toolbar features. but if you are a Firefox user and you like Yahoo it  is worth checking it out. the same if you are in a machine with IE7 and you are not allowed to upgrade it but you are able to install stuff to it.

10 GREAT Opera Widgets

June 15th, 2009

To say that the Widget Platform from Opera is inconsistent would be a understatement. but even with that known in advance, they actually got some good widgets  worth using if you use Opera as your second browser or a must have if you have Opera as your main browser.

Neither is my case, but CNET Don Reisinger took it to himself to find 10 actually great Opera Widgets you should be using if you are a Opera Browser user. after trying out hundreds of them. he think he got 10 worthy of that title.

My favorite after loading them up would be without a doubt the Opera Twitter Widget that is really impressive in terms of features and got a pleasant design.  Would truly use it on a daily basis if Opera was my main browser.

Firefox iGoogle Gadget Sidebar

June 10th, 2009

Just like there are people that seems to love Toolbars and get enough of those, there are other who love to use sidebar for everything.  in this case a iGoogle Sidebar sound like a actually good reason to use one. if you have screen state (1400×900+) and you use Firefox as your Main Browser that is.

tmp11C0

This is the iGoogle Gadget Sidebar and it comes as a extension for FireFox that will format your iGoogle Gadget into their small forms and in a single scrollable column in automatic form.

This results in a good way to be able to check your weather widget have your Google services at a very close reach without having to keep your iGoogle startpage in a tab all day. The iGoogle Gadget Sidebar works with most of iGoogle Gadgets and it is such a good idea that there should be a option for Iron and Chrome where it makes even more sense to offer it. would be great to have in IE8 for that matter, so if i see it elsewhere, i will post on it.

Firefox Flash Game Maximizer Addon Also Good for Flash Game Widgets

December 4th, 2008

Well.. not every flash game widgets. but it works with a lot of them.

One of the flaws in Flash that continue to this day, post Flash 10 is that it got a crappy Full Screen Transition or That it can Take lots and lots of resources. while this is a pain for Online Game Widgets (unless they are done in Silverlight). Game Widgets are mostly done in Flash and there are a lot of places where you can find them and most of the times they will lack a option to go Full Screen to begin with.

You can alleviate this niggle if you are a FireFox user with the Flash Game Maximizer Addon.

This will let you play flash games and flash game widgets in full screen to your heart content.

The Addon is still in a Experimental Status so you will need to log on into the Firefox Addon page to install it.
