Crazy to put much effort into a widget thats only good for 8 days.
The first widget comes from 9to5mac.com
Tablet countdown widget for your OCD infatuation
See the “latest” link at the bottom right? …does this indicate a link to more? Perhaps news or special announcements…something to give the widget a bit more life than 8 days.
Mac users can download here.

This might be a bit off the path but there is a “town hall” meeting on iTablet and SDK 4.0 scheduled after the Jan. 27th Apple event. This town hall can be found on Eventful.com

With all the rumors and speculation about the iPad, iSlate, iTablet, iPhone XL, iWhatever… its absolutely no surprise that these countdown widgets popped up right away.
One disappointment…none of the colorful Apple invitation styled timers are able to be embedded into a website. Does this mean a majority of Apple users don’t have websites?

fmylife.com is a place where users can leave brief personal stories that end in some sort of embarrassment and are finished with FML. The acronym FML has gained popularity outside of fmylife.com and a developer community has delivered on the fmylife API.
Supposedly (according to TechCrunch) fmylife is now demanding a 50% share in any revenues generated using their API. Understandable…however, they should have had this API revenue share in place before releasing to the dev community.
There are various Apps for smartphones that may or may not disappear based on these revenue demands. Free apps/widgets remain untouched.
Here is the Mac OS X FML widget
