Netflix updated interface now rocks

November 15th, 2011

Have you seen this yet? The new Netflix interface on Android has improved nearly 250%. You instantly have more visual access to the shows and movies that you want or are currently watching.

The new design is much more immersive and provides greater focus on the growing number of titles in the Netflix catalog. In fact, the new interface displays twice as many movies and TV shows as before, enabling you to discover even more titles you’ll love. Also, we’ve taken greater advantage of the tablet’s unique features, inviting you to swipe through rows of titles featuring larger artwork.

Thank you Netflix…we love you!

New Challenge to XDA Developers…Beat Restrictions on Android Movie Rentals

May 22nd, 2011

“due to requirements related to copyright protection” Google is blocking access to ‘Android Market Movie Rentals’ for any ‘Rooted’ Android devices. You will get an error message when you attempt to try — “Failed to fetch license for [movie title] (error 49)”.

Apparently anyone who is willing to root their device, and risk voiding their warranty in order to upgrade their phones (Carriers use ‘No Upgrade’ to push new device sales) is automatically a pirate that is going to somehow steal a streaming movie from the Android Marketplace. I smell Bullshit!
