Plurk Widget Editor Updated, Adds Customization and High Spread Sharing

July 1st, 2008

A nice update for the Plurk widget is now out and they have solved all of what i don`t liked in the first release.

Now you can customize the user details, the size and the colors of the widget so you can integrate it better to your blog.

There is also a live preview of the widget so you can make as many versions of your plurk widget as you want. if you want to save those versions before deciding which one you are going to use just save the code each time you come up with a version of your liking. preferable if you are going to be using the embed code directly.

If you are fine with just one version and don`t want to copy and paste the embed code yourself. don`t worry about it. the Plurk Widget Editor now counts with a High Spread Sharing module powered by gygia.

The guys at plurk aimed this release for blogs only so the options quick install are only for Blogs. but they have said they will add Widget- App versions for MySpace and Facebook very soon. i would add Friendster, Hi5 and Bebo while they are at it.

Other than that. no complains for it with this release.but if they can release a release a Vista Sidebar Gadget, that would be cool to have next.

It also got a extra perk for IE7/IE8 users because the Plurk Widget will render faster and with a extra option in the widget:

Quick Plurk subscribing so if anyone visits your blog and checks out the plurk widget, they can join directly from the widget by doing their first Plurk note right there on the spot and also follow your plurks immediately after they have joined.

Silvester: A really cool Silverlight Twitter Gadget

June 26th, 2008

tmp1B7F

Silverster  is a Silverlight powered Twitter Gadget that you can use in your blog and that can replace the minimalistic or overcomplicated options around and offer you a rather slick gadget that looks like a WPF or AIR  app.

tmp1C18

This Widget was developed by Emil Stoychev, and not only can you grab the Gadget code from the Silvester page for use but if you are interested in Silverlight, Emil also shows you exactly how it was made so you can make your own version of it if you can.

The name silvester came from tweety feline antagonist, silvester the cat. odd reference yet fitting for the play of words. funny name or not, Silvester is the most slick Silverlight Twitter gadget you will find right now, so that is worth a try.

TwitterFountain Widget: Fast Stream of Tweets and Flickr Photos at the same time.

There are a lot of widgets for Twitter, and there are a lot of widgets for Flickr.  but how about a Mashlet  that combines the two of them into one?. specially designed for people that get bored easily. that is where TwitterFountain gets into the rescue. This Mashlet (mashup widget) can stream photos by tag from flickr so they can serve as a ever changing background for your Tweets. then just add your Twitter Username and voila. a almost insane burst of photos and tweets together in the same widget. another of those things that could only have came from the Dutch.

Fortunately you can control the crazyness with the widget controls to set the pace of your Photo and Tweet stream, choose the colors and also the size of the widget too. that makes it a cool and unique novelty widget. all of the controls are within the widget so anyone can use it and share it easily.

The Widget is in Flash so it can be placed pretty much everywhere but you will have to copy and paste the code by yourself.

Embeddable Friendfeed Lifestream Widget

June 22nd, 2008

It is been a while i talked about the official but unreleased FriendFeed Widget.

Such widget is still not out or has been updated in any way and it may have proven to be too simple to many. But if you cannot wait for Friendfeed to get its act together and release a final version of that widget. i got something that can be more satisfying without the need of using other service but friendfeed.

tmp38E7      tmp38EE

A iframe widget generator for your FriendFeed Lifestream that was made by Arvind “Random Walker “ Narayanan where instead of having just the 5 last updates you can have the last 30 updates, choose the size at will and change the background color so you can integrate it in your blog or website.

tmp38F9

The only thing i think it is missing, would be to be able to put a image as header and chose a border but maybe if Arvind does a second version, that will be added.
